I had about 2 years done when I decided to go on a mission. I went Harrsiburg, Pennsylvania. I was there for 18 months then jumped right back into school. I worked on campus as an assistant to the office manager in the College of Business and Communication, and that is when the Dean (of that college) asked me if I had done an internship and I told him I hadn't. It wasn't required for major so I really hadn't put much thought into it. I started looking on-line and applied for a few here and there and ended up getting the one that I thought wouldn't be possible. I got to spend 4 months in Palmyra, New York working at the Palmyra Inn.

There I did all sorts of things - kind of like the utility player in softball. I really enjoyed the interaction with the people that came to visit the sites, or were not LDS and I got to bear testimony about the sites. I got to play manager when the "real" manager took a vacation, that was a learning experience, a good one. There were so many things I got to do while there. I got to see the Hill Cuhmorah Pageant.

Also, I ran into a missionary that I had met we were shocked to see each other again, especially on the East Coast. We are both from small towns in Idaho, so who would have thought we would run into each other in NY? His family left and about a week later I got a message on my wall on Facebook from him asking what to do now that he was home, I just laughed because I didn't have anytime to think about what to do. I told him I didn't have any good advice and wished him luck. He wrote me a week after that and asked me for my phone number and we talked every night for about 2 months. His boss at the time flew him out to visit for a weekend. From New York, I flew to SLC switched luggage and headed to Chicago (about 8 hours after flying into SLC). Colby picked me up at the airport and we stayed at a cheap hotel (we had to get two rooms so it had to be cheap), then I flew to Chicago with 13 other female BYU- Idaho students to put on a day camp for inner-city girls. Most of them were LDS. We had the camp at a church in Hyde Park, it was two weeks long. I got home the end of August and started school again in September, my last semester.

I graduated in December with a Bachelors of Science in Communication, with a minor in Exercise Science. In October, Colby and I got engaged, General Confrence weekend. I waited until after graduation to start planning the wedding. We wanted a Spring wedding and decided on March 8, 2008. We moved to Preston, Idaho, to start our life together. He was working construction out of Logan, Utah, and I worked for the small town newspaper in Preston, The Preston Citizen. I again was a utility player. I wrote, took photos and did some designing.

Colby got hired on with Union Pacific Railroad, so we knew a move was in the near future, since it was an hour plus drive from Preston. I got a job with the The Bannock Youth Foundation. When I got the job we moved. Now he has a job in Soda Springs, the railroad laid him off, so we will be moving again, when I find a job again.

Dara Benkenstein Carpenter

Well, let's start at the beginning or the end of high school. I when to work in Jackson Hole WY to work at the Jackson Hole Airport at the FBO (Fixed Operation Base) as a greeter. What is a greeter? A greeter is a person who park airplanes by directing into parking spots. Also helping pax and crew with there need. An FBO is where private planes come in.

Just before my husband Tyson came home from his mission, I came back home to Idaho. I knew him before he left and found out after kissing so many frogs he was the one for me. Four months later we got married; July 30 2004. Tyson started going to school to become a Civil Engineer at ISU. After a short time off, I went to work for Horizon Air in Idaho Falls as a Customer Service Agent. I did everything from Parking planes, Loading bags, and Working the counter. If you ever watch the show Airline it is all really what its like, just add snow. With working for the Airline you are able to fly for free, and we traveled as much as we could.

After a 1 1/2 years of that crazy airline life, I went to work at Local News 8 in sales. Then I got a call to come work the local FBO Aero Mark as a Lineperson were I work now. At this job I fuel aircraft, moving them, de-ice them, or anthing else that needs done. I guess you could say I love working in Aviation. In all this time we had moved 4 times. Now we are in Idaho Falls in our first house. Shortly after moving into our home, I found out we were having a baby. In December 2008 Tyson graduated from college and got a job working for ITD ( Idaho Transportation Department) and in Febuary our baby girl Evelyn Shay was born. She is the best little gift we could have ever asked for. Tyson is such a good dad, its so much fun to watch the two of them together. Motherhood is a very busy job but you get the best little rewards from your little one.

So, that is my life so far in a nutshell. It's crazy to think only a few years ago we were all at Rigby High school itching to get out into the real world. Well, so far the real world has been good to me. It has been great to look and see how everyone is doing. Thanks for starting the class of 2002 blog and you all take care.

2 new updates on their way!

Just letting you know that the blog will have 2 new updates in the next couple of days - After high school, I went to Idaho State University and earned an Associate's Degree in Sign Language Studies. I married RHS 2001 graduate Blaine Bradley when he came to ISU after his mission to Canada in December of 2004. We lived in Pocatello until the start of the school year in 2005 when we moved back to Rigby. We are working on buying a house and hope to move in before I graduate. We will be married for 4 years in December. Boy how time does fly.

We were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Melody, the following December. She is definitely full of spunk and energy. I continue to go to school working towards a degree in Secondary Education teaching English. It is an exciting program and I am looking forward to graduating next year.

In March of this year we were blessed with our second baby girl, Emilie. She is definitely a handful and likes to keep me on my toes. These two girls absolutely love each other. Melody especially loves to protect her little sister. We have two cats that live with us also, named Dutchess and Oreo. They are a lot of fun. When I am not in school, I really enjoy spending time with my family. The photos here are the most current ones.

I am really looking forward to hearing about others and how they have been after high school. Well after school in the fall of 2002 I got a scholarship to Career Beauty School so that's where I went- Only to dropout with a few months left to go, The chemicals really messed with my body and I was sick, sick, sick- and it didn't suit me very well anyways so yes "I am a beauty School Dropout" :)
2. In January 2003 the missionary, Dave Foster, (who I had never met before-he just started writing me my senior year) Came home
3. April 2003 I married my amazing missionary and best friend in the Bountiful UT Temple
4. June 2003 we got our first baby -our little Lhasa apso dog Tiki!
5. July 2004 we had our real first baby a little boy we named Payton
6. A week after I had Payton we started building our home and ten others in Idaho Falls (it was a group housing project thing with EISSA) I found out I really enjoyed building not to mention it was a great way to lose the baby weight :)
7. In July 2006 I had my sweet baby girl Brynley Ann
8. November and December 2007 I about lost my husband, first to appendicitis and than to multiple blood clots in his lungs, which the Dr's didn't believe were there and sent us home 2 times before we insisted he be scanned. This experience greatly changed my perspective and I try to treasure every second I have with my family (I don't know how long I got)
9.These are current pictures of my cute, very un-shy 4 year old boy Payton, and my Brown eyed, quiet, precious little 2 year old Girl, Brynley (we're still stumped on where the brown eyes came from :)
10. As for now I'm currently busy being a Stay at home mom, working on my pht (put hubby through) in Computer Science (he'll graduate from BYUI in Dec 08 yay!) working on starting my own schooling in Graphic design, starting a small announcement design business (littlebitsofbliss.com) and just enjoying Life. All in all life has been good, I've been married 5 years now, have two great kids, and I'm happy.

Ashlie Davids Wells

So after high school, I was supposed to move to Missouri to live for the summer, but it didn't turn out to be as spectacular as I thought I would be, so I only lasted a week and had to come home. I had met my future husband in March of 2002, but neither were in a place we could date, so we didn't start dating until I move back from Missouri in July. We dated on and off for 6 months then started dating seriously in January of 2003. We dated for over a year and were later married on March 27, 2004. We built a home in Idaho Falls and have been here for almost 4 years. In those 4 years we have had two dogs and two children; the children we kept, but the dogs were just too much for us so we had to give them to a better home. We had our son on August 1 2006, and his name is Grayson and he is a handful, but what do you expect a 2 year old to be? And we had our daughter on May 8th at home, I know it sounds hippy, but it was the best experience we have ever had with child birth and I would do it again in a heartbeat! Her name is Iris and she is the best baby ever if they are all like that I would have a million! We are currently in the process of trying to sell our home in the city, so we can move into the country and have more space for our kids to play outside, but the whole selling process it's slow going. We are crossing our fingers and hoping it's soon! For now I am a stay at home mom and I also help run our framing company by doing payroll, bills, and taxes, so my life is very full and hard to keep up with, but I wouldn't have it any other way! Some of the pictures of our son are from when he is young, but it's crazy how fast they grow!! So I had to put them in---

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5232639764881135282" style="DISPLAY: block; I actually met a few people from Rigby there, but no one from our class! I worked on my degree and also met my husband. Mike and I were married December 30, 2005. I graduated with my bachelor's in Psych and Health Teaching with a minor in Spanish in December 2006. Mike and I have been living in Ogden, and I've been working full time at an attorney's office for now and teach a few Pilates classes. Mike works full time and is going to school full time. We have a cute dog, no kids at this point. That's about it! I have a 10.5 month year old little girl, her name is Addison. She will be a year on August 23. I will finish my M.S. up this year in Speech Langauge Pathology from Idaho State University. I included a family photo from Christmas time and then a pic of Addison and I from the end of March. I can't wait to see how everyone is doing!

Here we are!

Thanks to copying RHS 2001, we now have a way to connect.
